A take on a Bourbon rickey, this will please the sour-drink lovers in the crowd. Muddled ground cherries add a (no pun intended) grounded, earthy note.

RECIPE:

  • 3 Ground Cherries

  • 3 Mint Leaves

  • 2 oz Far North Spirits Whiskey of your choice

  • ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • ¾ oz Simple Syrup *

  • Soda Water

INSTRUCTIONS:

Muddle ground cherries and mint leaves in a shaker tin. Add remaining ingredients (except soda water) and ice; shake hard. Double strain (to ensure seeds are removed) into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with an additional mint sprig.

SIMPLE SYRUP:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
