Cantaloupe Cooler

A second cantaloupe-based cocktail in as many weeks? Yes! The versatility of this gimlet-inspired cocktail makes the most of your leftover herbs and also lends itself to experimentation.

GLASSWARE: COLLINS

RECIPE:

  • 2 oz Far North Spirits Sölveig Gin or
    Anna’s Garden Gin

  • 2 oz Cantaloupe Juice
    (or a 2” Cube of Cantaloupe)

  • ¾ oz Fresh Lemon Juice

  • ½ oz Simple Syrup *

  • Assortment of Torn Herbs

  • Soda Water

INSTRUCTIONS:

Lightly muddle cantaloupe cube (if using). Combine all ingredients (except soda water) in a shaker tin with ice. Shake hard; strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice. Top with Soda.

SIMPLE SYRUP:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
