Here To Shave The Day

“A simple vodka or gin martini is a crisp, clean canvas on which to highlight whatever suits your fancy. The tanginess of shallots and radishes add a savory top note to this classic savory cocktail. This recipe is from Elliot Manthey, co-owner of Meteor Bar.

RECIPE:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine liquid ingredients in a mixing glass with ice; stir until very cold. Strain into a chilled cocktail (coupe) glass. Garnish with thinly sliced radishes and scallions.

SIMPLE SYRUP:

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup water

Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
