GLASSWARE: Lowball
Recipe:
2 oz Ålander White or Gold Rum
½ oz Simple Syrup
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
½ cup Cantaloupe Cubes (About ½-1” Across)
1 Basil Leaf, Torn
1 Small Slice Jalapeño, No Seeds
1 Pinch Salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a shaker, muddle ½ cup cubed cantaloupe. Add 1 torn basil leaf and 1 small slice of jalapeño (no seeds). Add liquid ingredients and shake. Strain cocktail over ice and garnish with one additional basil leaf.
SIMPLE SYRUP:
In a saucepan combine:
1 cup granulated white sugar
1 cup water
Heat over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, then cool. Use right away or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
